Slick Tails

Potholing

Have you noticed the number of potholes that have opened up in the recent days?

Have you also noticed that most of them are exactly three feet from the kerb - just where you safely want to ride?

Help is at hand from the CTC, using their excellent website fillthathole.org

The form is really easy to use, the report simply marks the site on a Google Map

I reported a particularly vicious crater on Wednesday morning and it was fixed on Thursday!

It's not the neatest fix I've ever seen but it's one hundred times better

than the five inch deep hole that was trying to dent my rims the day before!

In the 80's as a youth I filed for compensation for new rims when damaged in potholes, took photos of rims and hole, and with no further ado was sent compensation. It makes it economically worthwhile for the authorities to fill the holes in then....

Well worth the effort putting the hole on 'fillthathole'. The other very valuable thing to do is report it to your local authority AND get an incident number. Report it as dangerous and enquire if it has been logged as 'dangerous'. If it's not sorted in a week phone them again

I quite agree with you about that pothole its enormous, only thing is now its been reported will they just fix that ONE or will they look at the whole section of road which is v poor nick on both sides, to such an extent that I now avod the road completeltry
